Ms. Zambreno
Greetings! I am excited to be teaching 6th grade earth science this year. I am in my 19th year of teaching middle school and in my 6th year here at Capitol Hill. I hope that I fulfill all of your expectations as an engaging, caring, and dedicated teacher.
Before I became a teacher, I received a Master's degree in Horticultural Science from the University of Minnesota and did research on grapes and apple trees. This experience gave me the chance to do research, work with amazing scientists (like the people who brought us Honeycrisp apples!) and teach labs to undergraduates. This was where I found my passion for teaching. I decided to focus on middle school students and went to Hamline University to earn my teaching license. I love the enthusiasm and creativity these students bring to the classroom. I am always looking for ways to teach science through meaningful labs, engineering projects, class discussions, and debates.
I have been married to my husband for 26 years and we have three wonderful children who are all in SPPS. I love to travel, garden, cook great meals for my family and friends, and go boating and hiking in the summer and travel to warmer places in the winter.
If at any time you have questions or concerns about your child's progress or what we are doing in class, please feel free to contact me. Email is the best way to reach me.
