Ms. Shariff
A couple of questions for Ms. Shariff...
Q: What’s your favorite color?
A: Without a doubt, it’s purple!
Q: What do you like to do for fun?
A: Gardening and growing things keeps me super busy! I am also hooked on spending as much time as I can with my 2 pooches. Besides that, I also love to read, cook, bake, go watch a soccer match, create something interesting, explore new places, visit bookstores and museums, meet interesting authors, and spend time with my family and friends.
Q: What is the strangest thing you have ever eaten?
A: Romanesco broccoli: it’s a perfectly cool fractal combination of math and nature, all in a delicious cauliflower-y bite!
Q: Do you have a favorite book or author?
A: It’s hard to say just one, but I love the Harry Potter series. I also love some Twin Cities authors: Kate DiCamillo and F. Scott Fitzgerald. Guess which of those two authors I have met?!
Q: Do you have any collections?
A: Yes! I collect interesting rocks and minerals and autographed books. A few summers ago, we went agate hunting in Grand Marais-so fun! I also have over 100 autographed books, some from author book signings, but mostly from when I worked in a bookstore in Chicago.
Q: Wait, did you live in Chicago?
A: I was born and grew up in Chicago, and moved to Saint Paul awhile back. I love it here, even when winter bites at you! We recently moved to a hobby farm in Wisconsin, and we love walking the trails and watching the creatures around us. Murphy, our energetic Boxer/Pittie mix, loves to run after the creatures and is a general pest to the many rabbits, squirrels, birds, and butterflies around. Oh, Murph!
