Schwab, Samantha
Ms. Schwab
Hello! My name is Ms. Schwab and I will be your child’s 1st Grade teacher this year. I love teaching at Capitol Hill, and I can't wait to explore and nurture your child's many gifts and talents.
I have lived in the Twin Cities my whole life: I was born in Minneapolis, and grew up in Mendota Heights. I have a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education (Birth-3rd Grade) from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, but I also have degrees from the University of St. Thomas in Neuroscience and English Literature. Before joining Capitol Hill, I taught 1st grade in the Roseville Area school district. I love teaching everything, but reading and math are my favorites! When I am not teaching, I like to spend my free time doing yoga, hiking, growing flowers, reading books, and traveling.
I love to teach 1st grade and I love to have fun at school. I use singing, dancing, games, and art while teaching—I love creativity! My hope and dream this year is that every one of my students will love learning, develop a growth mindset, do work they are proud of every day, and learn to take care of each other as a community. In my classroom we practice kindness, empathy, and compassion. We learn about the world around us and how we can use our many gifts and talents to positively impact our communities. I believe school should be a place where we learn to do our best, be our best, work together, and have fun!
Welcome to 1st Grade! I hope you are as excited as I am. See you soon!
