Mrs. Krista Medina
Hi! My name is Krista Medina. I started working at Capitol Hill in the Fall of 2011. I will be one of the special education teachers at Capitol Hill. I will mainly be serving elementary students (1-5) with various disabilities (i.e. learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, other health disabilities, autism, developmental delay, physical impairment, and deaf and hard of hearing.)
I will be servicing these students in their general education classroom or the resource room. It is my goal to use my experience, enthusiasm, and energy to inspire and challenge the whole child academically and social/emotionally to reach his/her potential and help prepare each individual to be a successful, responsible citizen.
In the Spring of 2005, I started working for Saint Paul Public Schools as a special education teacher. I graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with degrees in Elementary Education, Specific Learning Disabilities, and Emotional Disorders. I received my Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in Differentiated Instruction at Concordia University Saint Paul.
Besides being a teacher, I am married to my husband, Louis, and we have two beautiful daughters, Siri and Hannah . We also have a Britany Spaniel puppy, Tuk, and a miniature dachsund, Willow. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy reading, watching movies, shopping, going out to eat, and anything to keep me busy!
I have enjoyed getting to know the students and staff at Capitol Hill. I look forward to meeting and talking more with parents/guardians. I am looking forward to another fun, exciting year!
