Mrs. Heather Greenwalt

Welcome to Mrs. Greenwalt’s 3rd Grade!!!

Hello & Welcome 3rd grade students and families! Welcome to Room 1515, my name is Heather Greenwalt, and I will be your child’s teacher this year. I am very excited to meet each student and start a terrific year of learning.  Third grade is such an exciting and the most MAGICAL year!

My classroom will be a nurturing and safe learning environment for each of my students as they learn and grow. It is my hope that everyone will have an extremely positive year with tremendous growth, but one that will include lots of joy and laughter as well. I will do everything I can to make that possible.

I know the beginning of this year may feel a bit different, especially for those students and families that were virtual last year. I assure you that we will have an amazing time as we begin to make new connections, friendships, and begin learning together. We will have fabulous opportunities for getting to know each other and create a wonderful community of friends that is kind, caring, and a safe place.

A little bit more about me! My husband, Nathan and I have been married 24 years, we have three kids, and all three of our children attended Capitol Hill. Now my daughter Nora is a senior in high school, but is taking PSEO classes at the University of Northwestern, in Roseville.  My daughter Noelle, is starting her first year at Grand Canyon University, in Phoenix, AZ, studying child psychology. My son, Noah, is finishing his senior year, at Grand Canyon University, majoring in Chemistry.

Over the summer, I spent most days outdoors tending to my gardens, visiting my neighbors, walking, enjoying time with my family! I also love singing, and traveling. A few summers ago, I completed my Masters in Curriculum & Instruction, with a specific emphasis on Gifted Education.

This is my 6th year teaching at Capitol Hill; my third year in 3rd grade.  In the years prior, I taught 2nd grade at Jackson Magnet, then stayed home while my children were young. I was also a substitute teacher at Capitol Hill for seven years, prior to joining the 5th grade team, in 2018.

Parents, I am here for you and your child, should you have any questions or concerns. If you ever need to reach me, I am always available on email or phone call.  I do have a Google voice phone number which will always be at the bottom of my emails. If it is easier, we can always schedule a Google meeting or phone call as well. My door is always open.

Get ready to have a JOY-FILLED year, 3rd graders!  I can’t wait to see YOU on Thursday, August 31st at our Open House!!
