Staff Profile

My name is Julie Baum, and I am the special education social worker at Capitol Hill. I have worked for St. Paul Public Schools since 1997, and I have been at Capitol Hill since 2024.  I am delighted to a part of this amazing community. I am licensed by the Minnesota Board of Social Work as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and by the Minnesota Department of Education as a School Social Worker.  I received my Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis, MO.  I earned my Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

• Social, emotional and behavioral support for students
• Special education assessments to determine students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs
• Resource information & referral for families
• Attendance information & support
• Collaboration with school staff to develop & implement interventions
• Consultation with community agencies & other professionals
