Staff Profile

This is my sixth year at Capitol Hill. I have been teaching 5th grade here for two years, and previously, was a literacy specialist in our middle school section for four years.

I am a Twin Cities native and went to college in-state at the University of Minnesota Morris. I graduated from UMM in 2011 and have been teaching ever since. A fun fact about me is that I lived overseas during my 20s and taught at international schools in Jakarta and Tokyo. I now live in Minneapolis with my husband and our dog. In my personal life, I love reading, playing video games, making art, and watching cozy mysteries. My nerdy passions involve languages and linguistics. 

I am always happy to have volunteers for class activities as well as field trips. I also want to encourage family members to come into the classroom to share their knowledge and expertise, including cultural and linguistic knowledge.
