Counselor

Greetings!

My name is Zach Nauschutz, Elementary School Counselor at Capitol Hill Gifted and Talented Magnet. I have been at Capitol Hill since the 2018-2019 school year and have enjoyed getting to know and work with our Gifted and Talented students! I am available to provide students with a variety of supports throughout each school year:

  • Counseling Classroom Lessons (weekly or bi-weekly):
    • Emotional Regulation
    • Academic Success Skills
    • Bully Prevention
    • College and Career Readiness
    • Personal Safety Skills
    • And much more!
  • Small Group Counseling:
    • Anxiety
    • Social/Friendship Skills
    • Emotional Regulation
    • Impulse Control
    • Family Transitions
    • Grief
  • Individual Counseling:
    • I see students individually for many reasons. Students, staff and family members may reach out to request to meet with me.
    • Individual counseling is short term; it is not therapy. Students who need additional support beyond individual counseling may be referred for therapy services. We work with teachers and families to connect with therapy services as needed.
    • Individual counseling is confidential. We communicate information with staff and family members that will help them better support their student.
  • 504 Coordinator
    • I am the 504 plan coordinator for academic accommodations for my grade levels.
  • And More!

Feel free to send me an email with any questions!
