The science book can be taken home and left there until the end of the year!
Each Monday a new, 4-section chapter is assigned and is due on Friday.
Each night for homework (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays only) the students are to read one section (4 - 6 pages) of the chapter and then answer the "Section Assessment" questions in their science notebook (usually 4 - 6 questions). These are then graded by the teacher on Fridays. Points are then awarded in the gradebook.
This use of the textbook as homework keeps the students abreast of the concepts being discussed during class time. It is very important that the students keep up with this homework. At this school we spend very little time in class going over the book.
