Minutes from the May 7, 2007 PTO meeting were approved as submitted.

Treasurer's Report (Julie Taylor): More auction money has come in.  Playground fund was paid $5,000.  Julie closed the money market account.  Checking and savings balances now total $21,961.25.

Principal's Report (Mr. Mariucci): Becky Pederson is leaving to become principal at Groveland School.  We have received our allocations for the 2007-2008 school year.  We will have a new literacy coach to be divided between the elementary and Jr. High.  Our band position has been combined with Museum and Mays so we will have a full time person in the building.  Deane Sollenberger will fill the position.  There are three classroom positions open, seventh grade world history, eighth grade science, and a sixth grade classroom position. There will be a half position added in the office. 

Old Business:

Joint Rondo Playground Initiative:  An account has been set up with YBT Travel so that parents can purchase travel and have a percentage come back to the school.  The school received a gift of 14,000 ergonomic rakes that can be sold for fundraising.  The District said it would pay for solving the water problems in the site prep.  It's unclear whether they will fund $15,000 per school or per site.  The next playground meeting will decide where to install the purchased equipment on the playground and how much site prep is needed.  Depending on what decision is made, there could be a new playground this fall, but it could be delayed until fall of 2008.

PTO Funding Rubric:  Dana Carmichael provided homework to be completed before we can meet.  The group will look at the three steps and meet June 25 to discuss.  The meeting with Dana will hopefully be July 16 or 17 to produce the rubric.

6th Grade Valley Fair Field Trip:  Parents donated enough money and even some extra.  The field trip will happen.

New Officers for next year:  We have a list of people to contact.  Chair-elect, treasurer, and secretary are open.  We also need a  volunteer coordinator, directory editor, and Carnival coordinator.  Maggie O'Riley will be the newsletter editor. 

New Business:

Election of Chair:  Darlene Haecker was elected PTO chair for the 2007-2008 school year.

Packets for next year:  With Becky and Pat Cervantes moving on, we'll need to work hard to get this organized.  They usually get packed two weeks before school starts.  The open house is August 31.  The first grade and third grade dinners need to be scheduled in September.
