Favorite Book
Everyone is required to bring a copy of a favorite book by week's end(Fri, 9/10) to complete a reading project. As part of our skill-building for book clubs, students will be asked to write a brief synopsis of the book (summarizer role) and a detailed color illustration from this work (artist role). Student products will be displayed on the wall outside the classroom.

Please make sure that you get all your paperwork in ASAP.

Book Club Facilitators Needed
Parents, grandparents and any other caring, responsible adults who are a part of one our young learners lives are invited to volunteer to facilitate student book clubs. In addition to reading the texts, BCF's will spend a half hour each week meeting with 5 or 6 young readers. Kids run the clubs; adults make sure everyone is safe and involved in the club's functions. Please send me an e-mail if you're interested. Time commitments can vary from all year to two months. Meeting time will be forged by consensus of volunteers. Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday between 10:45 (after math and 11:55 (before lunch) will probably work best. Clubs will begin in early to mid-October.
