Student Drop-off and Pick-up

Before and after school

Student safety is our top priority and your help in following these guidelines is crucial.

Drop Off

Students should not arrive before 7:40 AM. Students arriving before 7:40-7:50 AM need to go to the cafeteria as staff are not available to supervise before 7:50 AM.  Breakfast is served beginning at 7:40 AM.

Blue Door-Please drop off your child in the parking lot at the Blue Door.  Parents are not to use the bus lane for pick up or drop off.  Students should use the crosswalk at all times.

Green Door-The green Door on the east side of the building will also be open from 7:45-8:10 AM for drop off purposes.

Red and Yellow Doors-You may drop off your child in the parking lot at the Blue, Red, and Yellow doors.

Martin Luther King Door-You may park in the parking lot at MLK (on Mackubin Street next to the tennis courts) if you need to get out of your vehicle for any reason (loading or unloading).  The MLK doors will be open in the morning.

Pick Up

      Regular dismissal time is 2:35 PM.  Students need to be

      picked up by 2:40 PM unless they are enrolled in after-

      school sports or activities.

Pick up at the Blue Door is hectic at dismissal time, but it is the most supervised area.

Students may exit from the Green Door on the East side (Mackubin Street) from 2:35 - 2:50 p.m. only.    After that time, students will be sent to the Blue Door.  IF CAPITOL HILL SUPERVISORS ARE NOT PRESENT, ALL STUDENTS SHOULD REMAIN INSIDE THE BLUE DOORS UNTIL THEIR TRANSPORTATION ARRIVES.

After 4:00 p.m. all students must be picked up at the Red Doors.
