 | Week beginning May 12 May 8 update: We started Chapter 9 today. For tomorrow: Chapter 9, lesson 2, page 469, problems 1-5; 12-16. The students did extremely well on the vocabulary portion of the Chapter 8 test. I'm grading the other part tonight.
May 9 update: for Monday, Chapter 9, lesson 3, page 474, problems 1, 5-7, 13-14, 19, and 20. The students' Chapter 8 tests were returned today; On the whole, the class did extremely well!
May 12 update: Ouch! We hit a wall. We're into data analysis (Chapter 9), and the kids are pretty shaky. I'm going to slow down. If you have time, please try to help them. For tomorrow they are to complete problems 11 and 12, lesson 4, page 479.
May 14 update: Students need to look at the problems they missed on the 2 worksheets and re-work them. (They have written down the correct answers.)
May 15 update: Today we got out the old CMP 3 text and did the Peanut Butter problem. The students are to finish the two-page, double sided worksheet for tomorrow. It should clear up any remaining confusion over box and whisker plots.
May 16 update: Today we learned how to do "short division" from Ms. Prince's class, who learned it yesterday from Alex Ford. I introduced the next lesson (9-5), and assigned problems 1,4, and 7 on page 487. The students are also to study examples 2 and 3 on page 486 so we can go on with 9-5 on Monday.
