Introduction to Mr. Middleton
My name is John Middleton and I would like to introduce myself as the Orchestra and Suzuki Strings teacher. I grew up with an excellent public school orchestra experience in Wisconsin, and earned Bachelor and Masters degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Colorado. I am a violist in the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra and perform violin or viola in various groups in the Twin Cities. Apart from my passion for fostering a lifelong love for great music in my students, I like to ski, hike, canoe, and sail. My wife, Jocelyn Kalajian is a musician and teaches chorus and voice at Century College, and our daughter has studied violin for 9 years. This is my seventh year of teaching at Capitol Hill, and I also teach strings at Hancock Elementary School.
