A little bit about me!
My name is Mr. Howard and this year will be my very first year teaching at Capitol Hill Gifted and Talented Magnet. I am very excited to be part of this wonderful school community. Before coming to Capitol Hill, I taught U.S. History and Geography at Hazel Park Middle School in St. Paul. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Regents University in New York and I am currently earning Master's degree in Education at Bethel University and second degree in Theological Studies at Bethel Seminary.

My family and I have lived in St. Paul for over 20 years now! We have two teenage daughters and three cats. My oldest daughter Maggie graduated from Central High School in 2007 and she now attends the University of Minnesota in Duluth. My youngest daughter Hannah is a sophmore at Central High School. I love our city and, as both a teacher and a St. Paul parent, I have a strong commitment to helping St. Paul students succeed. The opportunity to teach at Capitol Hill only strengthens my commitment that much more.
When I’m not in the classroom, I like to do just about anything distracting, interesting or relaxing. I enjoy going to movies, reading, gardening, and traveling. I collect old wooden radios and vintage cars (I have a 1925 Model T Ford and I am currently restoring a 1970 VW Beetle for my daughter). I love to go camping and fishing in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and I plan to build my own canoe this winter! But more than anything else, I just like relaxing at home with my family and friends.
I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you this year!
