Sept. 15-19: This week we focused on finishing up lesson 13 and started lesson 14 in unit 5. Students also learned the irregular verb, "aller."

Sept. 22-26: We continued to perfect the verb "aller" and used it with a contraction and in a future construction. We also learned the expression "chez."We did a short presentation in French with a partner, completed the lesson 14 workbook pages, and went to the lab on Friday to take the lesson 13 & 14 quizzes on classzone.com.

Sept. 26-Oct.3: We started the week with a short, 6 pt. quiz on the verb, "aller." We then started our next lesson in the textbook and went over the following verbs: venir, revenir, aller, faire, etre, manger. We took a practice review test on Thursday in preparation for the real test on Wednesday, Oct. 15. We learned about the construction "nom + de + nom" and the new contraction with "de." We ended the week with a fun word find on "la musique."

Oct. 6-10: This week we practiced over and over again how to say that you play sports, play games, and play instruments (they are different) and to ask others what sports, games, and instruments they play. We also completed some workbook pages and at the end of the week started the new lesson in the text book.

Oct. 13-15 (no school during MEA): This week we learned an enormous amount of vocabulary related to family and on Wednesday we had our 45 pt. review quiz on verbs.

Oct. 20-23 (no school on Friday, Oct. 24): This week was all about possessive adjectives: mon/ma/mes, ton/ta/tes, son/sa/ses, notre/nos, votre/vos, leur/leurs. We began our family tree project (due on Monday) and completed workbook pages.

Oct. 27-31: This week we finished unit 5 and began a review. On Thursday we took the 100 point unit 5 test. On Halloween (Fri.) we started watching "The Haunting Hour" in French.

Nov. 3-7: On Monday we finished our movie and on Tuesday we corrected our tests and completed the reading & culture pages in the workbook. Wednesday we made crepes to celebrate the beginning of National French Week. The crepes were "fantastique!" On Thursday we worked on a section in between units 5 & 6 called "Entracte 5." No school on Friday due to conferences.

Nov. 10-14: This week we started unit 6 in our book. On Friday we translated a well-known poem called "Chanson d'Automne" and students will have to memorize this poem by Dec. 15th (one month). We will recite the poem regularly to help with pronunciation.
