Who said spreadsheets are for numbers? 5th graders have been using a spreadsheet application (Appleworks) for a more artistic purpose--creating quilt designs!
Ms. Mergens helped us learn about color value and contrast. These quilts all feature rows and columns with contrasting color value.
The quilts were created by formatting the rows and columns of a spreadsheet to be squares, then simply filling each cell with a different color.
