Can you believe that 2nd grade is almost over?!?
It’s coming up so quickly.
The students had a wonderful time at the Landscape Arboretum. We got to see lots of native birds, use binoculars, hear some chorus frogs, use all our senses to discover and identify native grasses, and get a close up look at some local water invertebrates.
We have two more field trips coming up before the end of the year. We will go roller skating at Saints North on Wednesday, May 28th. Because of the limited bus space we ask that parents who wish to attend, meet us there. Kids can bring their own roller skates or roller blades (please have them labeled with your child’s name). Kids who don’t own a pair of skates will be able to get them there at no charge. Students must wear socks or they can’t skate. There is also a mini golf course at Saints North and there is no charge for this. Students may bring up to $5.00 to spend on trinkets and treats. Students are responsible for their own money. They should have a safe place (deep pocket) in which to store their money. Teachers will not be handling student money or items. We will return to school in time for lunch that day.
The last field trip of the year is to Como Planetarium. All four classes go on Tuesday, June 3rd. Because of limited seating, each class can only take 2 parent chaperones.
We are going to be cleaning the classrooms the last week of school. We could sure use more disinfecting wipes and the Magic Erasers to help with this process. Please send in a bag with handles that last week so your child can carry all their goodies home.
Thank you to all parents who have volunteered throughout the year to help chaperone field trips, work in the classrooms, help with special events and supporting your children and teachers throughout the year. You make it possible for us to have all these wonderful learning opportunities.
