Bonjour!
My name is Mary Steffy and this is my 16th year teaching French at Capitol Hill. My BA is from the College of St. Benedict where I majored in French and minored in Management. I also have a Master's degree in Educational Administration from the University of St. Thomas. As a Fulbright scholar, I am now part of the Fulbright Alumni Association and encourage teachers and administrators in Minnesota to apply for Fulbright Scholarships. I am married with two children and reside in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. I enjoy traveling to my cabin in the summertime, reading, skiing, and doing yoga.
Over the years I have taken many groups of students/parents to France with EF Educational Tours. I love traveling and bringing people to France for the first time! In the summer of 2009 we will be traveling to three French-speaking countries in 10 days: Switzerland (Lake Geneva/Lausanne), Paris (including Versailles) and Belgium (Brussels, Bruges). Please visit the EF website for more information: eftours.com and enter tour number 413463-G1.

Bonjour!!
My name is Elizabeth Decourt. I have been teaching for 10 years in | | Elizabeth Decourt | the district and this is my 7th year at Capitol Hill. I earned my B.A. in French at the University of Minnesota with a minor in Foreign Studies. I have my Master's Degree in Educational Media and Technology. I have studied abroad in Pau, France and travelled in Europe, visiting other areas of France such as Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon, Nice, Cannes, Toulouse and Vienne. I also visited Italy, Spain and Greece. I met and married a Frenchman and keep French and the culture a part of my life. Our son has attended the St. Paul French Immersion school.
I also served on the textbook adoption committee for the district to help choose our curriculum materials. Our book and all the supplements including CDroms, DVDs, and a website to teach students about the diverse Francophone world, the language and the culture. We enhance that with cultural activities, singing, poetry, and reading materials as well as speaking as much French with classmates as we can.
If you have any questions about your student and their progress in French don't hesitate to email me at elizabeth.decourt@spps.org. I look forward to meeting you!
