We are looking forward to a fun and exciting 5th grade year at Capitol Hill.  Listed below is a list of most of the supplies needed in the 5th grade.  Please note that some items below are considered essential while others are optional.

ESSENTIAL:

• 5 spiral notebooks
• 5 two-pocket folders
• several #2 pencils
• 3 fine tip/ultra fine sharpie black markers for outlining maps
• 2 boxes of tissues (for the class)
• 3 glue sticks (for the class)
• scissors
• ruler (metric)
• gym shoes
• red correcting pen or pencil (exclusively for correcting)
• calculator-especially if you will be in 6th grade math or higher

OPTIONAL, BUT NICE TO HAVE

• blue or black ball point pens or erasable pens
• colored markers
• protractor
• compass
• dictionary (Oxford American paperback)
• hole punch
• pencil container or zippered case
• pencil sharpener

PLEASE HAVE YOUR CHILD'S NAME ON ALL MATERIALS BEFORE BRINGING THEM TO SCHOOL TO AVOID ISSUES OF OWNERSHIP.  These materials should be available for use by the second day of school.
