2006 - 2007 Awards
2006 Big River Art Contest - 6th grader Hannah Nesser took the grand prize in the "Mighty Mississippi" category.  Dominique Neher and Monique Holod were also winners in that category and Emma Burnham received an honorary mention.  Elizabeth Weir was named a winner in the "Caring for the River" category.

Prudential Spirit of Community Award and U.S. Presidential Volunteer Service Award:  Tess Chudzik and Hanna Nesser for their ongoing efforts to pass a Minnesota bill limiting the sale of triclosan soap.

St. Paul Public Library Library Card Design Contest: 3rd grader Leonel Ojeda and 4th grader Erin Kennedy were among 35 finalists selected from over 1,100 entries.

2007 Capitol Hill Chess Tournament:   Otto Marckel was the winner in the 4th-8th Grade Section.  Kent Hanson was the winner in the 1st-3rd Grade Section.

History Day Regional Winners:

In the performance category: Ariana Amini, Mara Walli, Jennifer Waweru

For documentaries: Jill Bachelder, Maria Khoury, Ratih Sustrisno, Erin Holmes, Anri Brod, Elliot Hart Nelson, Zoe Jameson, Ella Coben

For Exhibits: Noah Kreider Carlson, Martin Peper, Audrey Berdahl-Baldwin, Cleome Bernick-Roehr, Elizabeth Weir, Marissa Yetter, Amalia Mongiat, Monique Holod, Connor Hendrix, Ellen Breen, Lara Griffin, Bailey Taple, Nicole Tempas

In addition, Capitol Hill earlier sent eight papers on to the state competition, papers written by: Emile Kettles, Hannah Nesser, Bridget Kranz, Grace Befort, Nicky Loverso, Zosha Winegar-Schultz, Phoebe Ward, Dylan Shinn

State Chess Tournament:  The 1-3 Grade team won 5th place in the primary section.  3rd grader Tyler Wolfe also won Best in the Twin Cities.  The 4-6 grade team won 2nd place in the elementary section.  Webster An-Ho took 10th place.  Gabriel Ngam took home a trophy as one of the top 5th graders, and Brian Petkov and Otto Marckel were awarded first and second top 6th grader trophies.

5th Grade Math Masters: The fifth grade team took first place in the regional math competition.
